Silence must be observed in the school library. Noise, disturbance or improper behaviour is prohibited.

Food and beverages must not be brought into the school library.

Use of mobile phones in the school library is prohibited.

Students must switch off their mobile phones before entering the library

Library furniture, fittings or equipment must not be misused or their arrangement altered.

No school bags, plastic bags etc. are allowed in the book collection section of the school library. For further details, please contact our Assistant Librarian, Ms. Ng.

All students are responsible for their personal belongings.

Each student may borrow up to 3 books. The borrowing period is 1 week.
Each book can be renewed once. All borrowings, renewals and returns must be done in person. All students are required to produce their valid SJC student cards in order to borrow resources from the library.

An overdue fine of $1 will be charged immediately from the day following the due date (excluding days when the school library is closed). All fines should be paid in cash at the school library counter and the maximum overdue penalty is $30 per item

Remember to return your borrowed items punctually. Students having overdue items in their accounts are not allowed to borrow new items until their accounts are settled.

Any defects, loss or damage to library items must be reported immediately to the Teacher Librarian, Miss Tai. Borrowers are responsible for any loss or damage to items that are in their charge. They are
liable to pay either the full cost of replacing such materials or $100 for unverified items, plus the overdue penalty.

Computers located in the school library are provided only for educational purpose. They should not be used for gambling, viewing obscene materials, playing computer games or downloading computer software. Infringement of these may result in disciplinary action by the school discipline board.
